January 2008

Woke up feeling fecked. Fluid in my ear. A bagel and water then out the door. The iPod song of the day was The Sex Pistols singing “God Save The Queen” I love the anger in this song. It rattles my balls to hear this fine Irish man blast the establishment.

God save the queen
The fascist regime
They made you a moron
Potential H-bomb

God save the queen
She ain’t no human being
There is no future
In England’s dreaming

Don’t be told what you want
Don’t be told what you need
There’s no future, no future,
No future for you

Got a lot of work done again. Then down to Subway for lunch.
Back to installing vinyl floors. Day end and home.

Pagliacci’s for dinner.

Carmen came by for tea.
We were meant to head off to Breitenbush today but the road in there is closed due to an avalanche. We will now give it a shot tomorrow.

Up and over to the Home Depot. Had a great startto the day there. Then off over to the prison. Queen singing “(You’re So Square) Baby I Don’t Care” on the iPod.

You don’t like crazy music, you don’t like rockin’
You just want to go to a movie show, and sit their holdin’ hands
You’re so square, baby I don’t care

I don’t know why my heart blips, I only know it does
I only want to love you baby, I guess its just because
You’re so square, baby I don’t care

You don’t know any dance steps, but I do-a-hoo-hoo
I only know why I love you like I do-a-do-a-do-a-do
You don’t like crazy music, you don’t like rockin’
You just want to go to a movie show, and sit their holdin’ hands
You’re so square, baby I don’t care
Baby I don’t care, baby I don’t care

Worked a wee bit today at the prison. Paul and I went up to Old Country Buffet for lunch. I fecking ate way too much. Well I don’t know if it was the lunch or the gwal of chocolate that my friend gave me as a gift. Either way I was stuffed.
Home Depot for more supplies and D&D for vinyl. Got some floors ready for tomorrow and had a meeting with the nice Russians from the complex about their vinyl for Monday.

Home. Then over to The Sunshine Cafe for dinner.

FUCKSHITCUNTTITSBOLLIX

Up and off to work. Had a good talk with the good Raven on the way in. She is doing great.
Worked a good day. Went up to Taco Time for lunch. Then finished out the day and headed home. I didn’t put the iPod on in the morning due to my phone call so in it goes on the way home. The first song on was “Like A Rolling Stone” sung by The Rolling Stones.

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn’t you?
People’d call, say, “beware doll, you’re bound to fall”
You thought they were all kiddin’ you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin’ out
Now you don’t talk so loud
Now you don’t seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.
How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Whole Foods for dinner and home.

Woke up to a blanket of snow all over the place. Nice
Back to Williamsburg after four days of freedom. I fecking hate it there but I got the first song of the day “Until We Meet gain” by a Canadian fiddle band named Barrage. This particular song brings joy to my heart.

May our children and their descendants
Be the ones to find a lasting peace
May their hopes and dreams become united
May the past be left for those who hate….

To the job shack and led the safety meeting. Got on with the day. Worked like mad until lunch and off down to Subway for a change. Had the veggie sub. Worked until the end of the day and got a bit more done. The drive home was very quick.

Did the waterfront trail at the Arboretum again. Then over to Chipotle for dinner. Now home and God knows what next..

Went to sleep at 3:58 am and woke at 7:something am. A cup of tea and a scone.
I called my friend Ann in Ireland to offer my condolences on the death of her mother. We chatted for ages and ages. She was totally sad when I called but was in better humor when we hung up much later on. Her mother Ciss Maloney was a dear woman. She was like a mother to me growing up and indeed the same to many in the village. Always a smile and many words of wisdom. She will be missed dearly by family, friends and the village.

Headed down to REI later on for a wee bit of shopping. Had lunch there at the World Wrapps.
Afterwards we went over to the Arboretum for a walk.

We went down town to have a snack of dinner and a chat with Darrin the retired drummer from the legendry band “Black Hole” He had a friend from Korea with him. We had a great chat at the hotel and then we went over to “Paddy Coyne’s” for the dinner. Feck when I got there I felt like a celebrity with all the people coming up to say hello to me. Had the veggie burger and a continuous flow of people coming up to me as they heard I was there.  Great music great chat and good food whoooosh we were gone. Well not that easy it took me fifteen minutes to finally get away from the gang.

On the way to the pub.

Back from the pub.

Dropped Darrin and his friend off at the hotel and said our goodbyes. This exit was easier. I have always enjoyed Darrin’s company and hope to see him more often in the future. Even on a trip to Ireland.

Woke up and headed over to “Silence Heart Nest” for breakfast. A good snack there.

Ron Paul must be a Communist.

Baked some Irish scones for the gang here. Lazed the day away.
Went over to OakTree to see a movie. “Cloverfield”

A few years back I say two movies “The Blair Witch Project” and “Signs” Well this was a mish mash of both. Shite enough.

Went to The Sunlight Cafe” for dinner and bought a few dvds on the way home. Watched “The Invisible” when we got back.

Ok enough but not great by any means.

Yesterday I had a call from a friend who brought up our past.
Woke up early and relaxed around the hotel for a few hours. Went down and had a gwal of tea and english muffins for the breakkie. I had some oatmeal too. Yesterday I had the same items for breakfast. I went back to 201 and packed up my stuff. I said goodbye to the furniture that could be on display in the Jungle Room at Graceland.

We went up to work for a bit. After I put gas in the truck I put on the i-pod and the first song was “Yesterday” been sung by Elvis the American king. A nice version. He finished up with “Hey Jude” at the end. A good start to the day.

“Yesterday
All my troubles seemed so far away
Now it looks as though they’re here to stay
Oh, I believe
In yesterday………”

Got everything done and on our way home early. Nice.
The drive home was great.

At home had lunch and took my motorcycle out for a burn. The weather looked so good with the sun shining but me fingers were frozen on the way back.  Carmen came by to say hello and have some tea. Realta came home followed a little later by Natasha. We went to Araya’s for dinner. Oh I talked to my sister Mary and Mother Mary back in Ireland. Mam is all ready to go in for her surgery on February 5th.

Yesterday I was looking forward to coming home.
Yesterday we had four more shows of “Dexter” left to watch. Tonight we finished them. That ends the season one. It was a very good show. (Thanks’ Tim)
