December 2010

Woke up after up on 8 hours of sleep.
Had the breakkie.
Pretty much chatted on Facebook to a lot of people for a couple of hours. Talked to me Belgian woman and will head over there on Monday to do the Honey Do List.

Now a quick look back at 2010 at the hours of the year come to an end.  It was a good year. I do not wish for it to end but I can live in hope for next year to be even better.
Looking back here are some of the things I did.

So all in all not a bad year.
Lunch eaten

Went over to Target and bought 4 new hoodies. 3 long sleeve button tee shirts and 2 beanies. I will now get through the next few months at work. Stopped and bought 5 bottles of liquor at the Liquor Store. This cost more than twice my clothes did. Odd for a non drinker.

Walgreens for me photos.

Home.

Carmen came by for a visit.

Ate me dinner.

Watched a DVD “Knight  And Day”
poster_knighday-1.jpg

In spite of the bad reviews I had heard about this movie I liked it.

Now a trip to the bathroom and then over to my Russian Comrades to ring out this wonderful year and start the New One.

Good bye 2010

Well I went to bed before 7 pm last evening.
Watched a DVD on the portable. “Holy Rollers”

Holy-Rollers.jpg

The movie was an ok one.

I slept on and off through the night. Watched the start of “Wall Street-Money Never Sleeps”

Kept falling asleep and waking up fecked until I got up and got on with my day.

Headed back to Galleria.
The black ice had cars banged up around the place. I froze me toes and fingies until the day warmed up a little.
Pedro. Carlos and I hanging the Densglass on the soffits. Metal vent too. Plastic on the last deck as well. Wendy’s for lunch. Talked with Terry during the day. The good Belgian woman requested me to come over and work in her house. She told Terry he should go and rent places in France before he buys a place there. This way he will know if he likes the area. Our house hunting trip may be put on hold for a while. Well I know the area I like anyway.
Tidy Friday and headed out.

Driving back across the 520 I had to put on my sunglasses as the sun was beaming down. A lot different than the morning crossing.

Home

Ruzhen for dinner
Safeway for provisions.

Home

Watched a DVD “The Kids Will Be All Right”

I hadn’t given it much hope before I watched it but it ended up being quite good.

Last evening I wasn’t feeling the best so I fecked off to bed around 8:30. Finished of a DVD I had started the other night. “Around Ireland With A Fridge”
round-ireland-with-a-fridge-original.jpg

It was watchable.

Fell asleep and woke up all night long so I said “Feck”. Then I put in another DVD. “The Town”

This movie was quite good.

Kept on trying to sleep to no avail. Finally nodded off when it was time for me to get up. Woke up late at 6:06am. Up dressed and out the door at 6:10am.

Went over to Galleria. Got a look at the punch list for Crofton Springs but it was snowing over there so I stayed at Galleria for the days work. Pedro, Carlos and I pretty much all day weather protecting the building.
Wendy’s for lunch. Went to Dunn Lumber for supplies and over to Town Homes to pick up the ladder.

The day was long and slow moving but I made it home in good time.
I ate one of the truffles that Joanne got me for Christmas. I had it in me belly when I realized I had given up chocolate for a bit. Oh well.

Dinner,

Now I will think about bed and a movie,

Woke up bollixed.
Relaxed the morning away and then headed out. Over to Cooper Square today. Met Kyle. We went in to talk to Marcos. I built the plastic room. Then removed the ceiling. It was soaked up there. Removed the ceiling in the storage shed too. Wet. Went up to Pete’s and had a look at the water entry point. Came up with another repair plan.
Headed over to Home Depot for material. Then back to the job and went to work. Wrapped the East wall of the chimney with plastic. Removed the metal from the scupper.Installed 1X2’s to keep it on the building when the wind is a blowing. Cleaned up the deck. Caulked the metal cap on the chimney.
Headed down to Marcos’s place. Removed the plastic and cleaned up. Carried all the debris down to me truck. Loaded up the tools of course too. A lot of walking.
Home and continued on with my start to the day.

Dinner

Now I feel tired and may continue to relax.

Home from old.
Christmas09013ff.jpg

Woke up bollixed. Relaxed and headed out to work.
Had planned to go to City Light to pick up a ladder but it was already back at Galleria. Headed over there and got it on the rack. Headed up to Aviara to install a piece of siding that was blown off. Couldn’t find the spot anywhere. Ben didn’t know either. Waited for the good Jenn to show up. She told me where it was. Climbed up the ladder and put it back on. Then headed out.

Next went to Town Homes of Kirkland and attached a down pipe that had come apart. Left the ladder there so they can get on the roof the next day. Over to Galleria. Lunch at Wendy’s with Mike, Nicolas and Rich. Headed up to Tacoma Screw for some bolts for Galleria.

Then headed over to St. Theo’s and cut down the paving brick and installed the reducer.

Home

Dinner

Headed over to Thornton Place to see “True Grit”
2010_true_grit_poster_002.jpg

I thought it should have been called “True Shit”

QFC

Home

Now I will relax.

As I was twisting and turning trying to sleep last night Mam and Dad’s mass was going on in Scariff.

MamRIP.jpg

dadrip.jpg

I also watched a movie on me new DVD player. “Sliding Doors”

204848_1020_A.jpg

I liked the way the movie followed two parallel lives from the point of missing a train and getting onto the train. Worth a watch.

Woke up after 5 am. Feeling not so good after the weekend of eating. Promising myself I would be a good boy today on The Feast Of Stephen or Wren’s Day.

Good King Wenceslas looked out
On the feast of Stephen
When the snow lay round about
Deep and crisp and even
Brightly shone the moon that night
Though the frost was cruel
When a poor man came in sight
Gath’ring winter fuel

“Hither, page, and stand by me
If thou know’st it, telling
Yonder peasant, who is he?
Where and what his dwelling?”
“Sire, he lives a good league hence
Underneath the mountain
Right against the forest fence
By Saint Agnes’ fountain.”

“Bring me flesh and bring me wine
Bring me pine logs hither
Thou and I will see him dine
When we bear him thither.”
Page and monarch forth they went
Forth they went together
Through the rude wind’s wild lament
And the bitter weather

“Sire, the night is darker now
And the wind blows stronger
Fails my heart, I know not how,
I can go no longer.”
“Mark my footsteps, my good page
Tread thou in them boldly
Thou shalt find the winter’s rage
Freeze thy blood less coldly.”

In his master’s steps he trod
Where the snow lay dinted
Heat was in the very sod
Which the Saint had printed
Therefore, Christian men, be sure
Wealth or rank possessing
Ye who now will bless the poor
Shall yourselves find blessing

The Wran, the wran
the king of all Birds
on St. Stephen’s Day
it was caught in the furze,
up with the kettle
and down with the pan
give me a penny
to bury the wran
.

Lay in bed fecking around on the computer for a while.

Up showered and packed. Over the pass in not time and home.
Lunch

Watched “Elvis-Viva Las Vegas” on the Blue Ray.

It was so frigging good. Made me feel proud to be liking this man for so long. Showed what it was like for him as a mere mortal.

Headed over to Kris and Em’s for their Christmas Hungover Party.. Had fun with Caitlyn as usual and now she can read which is fun. Chatted to all there during the evening. A nice relaxing atmosphere among good friends.

Stopped off at World Market and Fred Meyers on the way home.

Dinner

Then headed out to the Fred Meyers at the other side of town for more cheap Christmas stuff. Arse.

Went back home with nothing as it was all picked through.

Now a movie to start and a sleep.

Good night you you.

Woke up early to the dark. The power was out here in Cle Elum. After a couple of hours laying in bed playing on the laptop the power came back.
Ate a great breakfast ala Natasha and Joyce.
Called Mary and the gang back home. Then called Eamon and his gang. Next up Jean Marc in Montana.

Opened up the pressies. I got a couple of memory cards, running pants, running shirt, skull cap, cat 6 cable, a 14 inch Skillet, a camelbak for running, anti nipple chafing roll on, box of Chocolati truffles, the Elvis Viva Las Vegas Blue Ray DVD. This is the first Blue Ray DVD I have ever owned.

rx3009_6bfi8bfi8efnii8zfi8tyfhxxxxxx8u9fji87fi8atfb9cw8tufhxxxxxx-1.jpg

Bollixed the evening away.

CHRISTMAS DAY
Slept in until 6:00 am. down for the cup of tea and a while later we all opened up our gifts that were under the tree. About two hours later there was a pile of wrapping and empty boxes all over the floor. Lots of great gifts exchanged. Relaxed a bit before we left for Seattle. Around noon loaded up the Jeep and drove out through the one to two feet of snow. It was higher as we came over the pass. Higher than the car in fact but the roads were ploughed great. At mile marker on I-90 the snow completely disappeared. The Celtic Women CD comes out of the radio and in goes the Hip Hop, Rap and the Reggae mix to take us the rest of the way home.
Back home I called my mother, sister and cousin Angela  back home. Their Christmas Day was closing down around 10 pm at night and it was only 2 pm here. I lit a candle for the dead to guide them into my house for Christmas.

We went up to Mountlake to see “Rocky Balboa” at the cinema.
image
I thought the movie was good. Better than I thought it was going to be and it was good that Mr. Stallone talked the studios into making it. As you sit there thinking back to the first Rocky movie many years ago, it makes you think about life and all that has gone on since.

We went to China 1st for dinner. So our official Christmas Day dinner was eaten here.

Back home and watched “Irresistible” on DVD
image
It was ok but Just Ok.

Today the Godfather of soul died. James Brown. My grandmother Mary Dillion who was one of the people I lit the candle for today. Her mother was Brown before she married Noonan so my great grandmother was Brown, no relation to James. Mr Brown was 73 years old. The same age as Bing Crosby when he died.
