August 2011

Woke up tired.

Off to work work at forest. Got there early. Elder and I hit the paining. Got the siding done and then had to hold off on the trim as the paint match wasn’t to my satisfaction.

Took down the scaffolding and continued on. We started into another building we had to work on. I went down to get the paint redone. Then to Dunn to get more siding. They had only a few pieces left. Back to the job and continued under th deck for a bit more.

I headed over to Woodinville for a meeting with Rollie about the work he wanted done in his building. Made a material list and headed back.

Stopped off to feed the pussies on the way home.

It was a frigging boring movie. I fell asleep for the last half hour of it.

Now I will bed it.

Woke up for a wee bit. This day I did fall back asleep again which is a very rare thing for me.
Woke up after 6am and had to rush straight out the door, Went to Dunn for more materials and then to the job. All on time to keep my never been late record.

Continued on installing new siding and trim all day. Got primer matched up with the green tint in it to make it easier to paint. Then primed the face side of the siding on the wall after it was all caulked up.

Headed for home but was held up chatting on the way out.

Stopped off to pick up a DVD at the Red Box on the way home.

Bridget O’Connor

  • Thanks for the run on Saturday! It was a good day!!

Bridget is typing …

Showered,
Wolfed down a huge dinner.
Bridget showed up a minute later and we headed to Greenlake.

Ran the first half mile slower and then took off. We ran a total of 3 miles in 25 minutes. This is the fastest I have ran Greenlake since last year. A good push helps and no bandage tonight. I was happy. We walked back to the car for a while to stretch out the legs.

Home

Didn’t talk too long in the car and inside I go.

Put on the DVD “Blitz”blitz_movie_poster_uk_ign_01.jpg

It was not so shabby. Kept the attention throughout. Some familiar funny parts relating to the old country.

Now?

Oh Realta moved out into the real world today so an empty room is available. I bought a new flat screen too put in there.

Went to bed last night around 8pm. Watched a bit of a movie and lights out. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Woke up at 11:30 and watched the movie all the way through. “The Other Woman”

placeholder.png

It held my attention.

Asleep again and woke up soon after. Watched Paul Brady on the RTE being interviewed by Gay Byrne on “For One Night Only”.

It was good.

Up and at them.
Off up to the job in Shoreline. elder on hand.

We set up the scaffolding. Removed the siding where needed. Replaced some rotten plywood. Put Wood preservative on the dodgy looking framing where needed.  New paper and Vycor. Primed the back of the siding instead of eating me lunch. Installed new siding for a little bit. Then cleaned up and got out of there late.

Home

worked on the paper work for a while.

Dinner and dessert.

Headed down to the Lake Forest Bar & Grill for the Trivia Night. Met Phil, Brenda and Mitch there. Phil’s friend Peter showed up later on. Had a fun night with a few laughs.

Home

and now a bed.

Woke up after 1 am so king of early.  As usual I moved my legs slowly to see if there was any pain going on. I felt nothing. I miss feeling pain after a good workout. Jumped out of bed and sure enough I was fine. The blood had dried on me nipples after the chafing yesterday too. No signs of a long run at all.
Put on the DVD “White Irish Drinkers”

white-irish-drinkers-movie-poster.jpg

It was another typical Irish story type of movie. Knowing there wasn’t going to be a happy ending like.  It was ok.

Then got up and watched Hurricane Irene hitting the West coast for a while on the telly.

Had cake and tea for beakfast.

Put on the hiking gear and headed over to Snoqualmie to do the “Kendall Katwalk”  hike up along the famed PCT. Our first time on this trail.

KendallKatwalkAugust2011005.jpg

Kept going up and up and up. Just over 3,200 foot total elevation gain.

The flowers were still out in the gardens.

KendallKatwalkAugust2011005.jpg

A bit of a view of Rainier to the south

KendallKatwalkAugust2011005.jpg

KendallKatwalkAugust2011005.jpg

Got out to finish just under the 12 mile round trip hike in just under 4 hours. Met some nice people on the trail today. Met a Geordie and her daughter. We talked to them for a while and then headed off.  Anyway here is a photo of our Garmin hike map.

Bridget showed up a few minutes later and we had a chat. I put on the shoes and we went outside.

Then we took off. We ran down to Greenlake and then over to Ballard. Down to Shilshole and down along the water to the locks. Then on over and ran a few hills up ay Discovery Park. Then back towards home. We reached 18.2 miles at Greenlake. We stopped for water and then walked the 2 plus miles home to stretch out the muscles. We talked non stop for over 4 hours by the time we arrived at The Castle. This was my favorite run to date. Time went by very fast and I felt strong. Well until Bridget made a mad burst at the end. She is a strong runner.

The return photo

KendallKatwalkAugust2011005.jpg

In home for a cola and some bananas and to continue the chat for a wee bit more.

Then down stairs and we cleaned and organized the TV room to be.

Headed over to Thornton Place and saw “Our Idiot Brother”

It was a nice feel good movie with humor and tears in it. Home for a bit more work downstairs.

Tasha made a great pizza for dinner Then a sour cream berry cake for dessert.

Maybe I should go to bed now and think about Kendall’s Pussy for tomorrow.

Woke up feeling better, Headed over to Forest to do the ceiling investigation. Met the good woman of the house. The room I was going to work in was chocker block full so no go there I will do it from the outside during the week. She had questions about the other deck. I called David and no answer.

I headed over to the shop to pick up more scaffolding stuff. Then over to Rollie’s in Monroe for more. I had to walk from the gate in forward and backwards as it was locked. Back to Forest and unloaded everything Then time to head home.

Went over to Thornton Place and saw a movie. “Colombiana” I heard Brian the Movie Guy on the radio give it a C-minus. He said wait for it on video. So in I go with low expectations

. colombiana-movie-poster-01.jpg

It ended up being quite good actually. I am ok with not waiting for the DVD.

Talked with the Mack from Flagmount on Skype earlier. Had a good old laugh.

Stopped into QFC on the way home. Ran into Kim in there and we talked for ages.

Now I will head out for a drive by.

Woke up ok.

Back to Seattle.
Lunched it.
Picked up scaffolding in QA to bring up to me job. then got paint from Byron and took that down to Kelly Moore to get some new buckets. Home Depot for supplies. then picked up the paint and off to the job. Made some calls.
Dealt with Aviara for a bit.

Home

Got the news from Steven next door that his dad died. I will miss Sam the Jap. He was a nice neighbor when I ever talked to him.

Dinner and dessert.

Thought about running but it was only a thought.
Oh got to talk to Aunt Marie earlier on Skype. Then Una and her family. Hadn’t talked to Flan or Brid for many many years. All in good form. Chatted to Morina too.

Anyway back to tonight. Watched a DVD “The Warrior’s Way”

the-warriors-way-1.jpg
